Strawberry Tour

View of Strawberry Lodge with Lover's Leap in the background. Lover's leap rises 1000 feet (300 meters) above the river canyon.  Lover's leap and is popular with rock climbers and hikers.  Strawberry is located on the South Fork of the American River along U.S. Highway 50.  Lake Tahoe is about 25 miles east.

Left and Right:  The two largest trees in the El Dorado National Forest are located behind our cabin. Both trees are Ponderosa Pines. They are nearly 25 ft (7.6 meters) in circumference.   They stand head-and-shoulders above the surrounding forest.   Center photo provides human scale.
