Like most Americans, I was overcome with anguish over the devastating events of September 11th 2001. In an attempt to quell my frustration and grief, I forged the prototype of this candelabra as a tribute to the victims and to the brave souls who risked their lives to aid the survivors.
    The center candle cups hold two tall candles and represent Flight 11 & Flight 175 that crashed into the World Trade Center. At each end a votive candle burns, one for Flight 93 lost in Pennsylvania & the second for Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon.
    The same candelabra is now available to the public at my cost. In addition, I am donating $2.00 of each sale to the Todd M. Beamer Foundation, established to provide immediate & long-term assistance to the 22 children who lost a parent or parents on Flight 93. One of the foundation's other goals is to provide assistance to families who are affected by future acts of terrorism.
    In addition, I am in the process of soliciting a matching donation from each of my suppliers.     I handcraft each piece and even though it is the same design, yours is unique, for no two are exactly alike. For centuries burning candles to honor the memory of our losses has been a tradition. For me, creating each of these candelabras is a path to healing, knowing it will benefit those in need of our help. Jere
